Supplement Planning

How To Design Your Supplement Program

Consider the following when creating your supplement plan:
  • pill organizer
    Quality and purity of supplements
  • Micronutrient synergies
  • Intermittent dosing (X days ON/ Y days OFF)
  • Rotate/alternate supplements
  • Check for potential interactions with medications.
  • Supplements to Avoid During Chemotherapy
  • Adequate dosage, dose titration
  • Storage & organization e.g. pill organizer
  •  Special Supplements & Formulations
  • Take your time when taking supplements, take one at a time with enough water and wait a little before taking the next.
  • Supplement Schedule: A printable form for listing nutritional supplements as well as instructions for taking them (frequency, with meals, etc.) {download page}. Check for the best time to take a supplement e.g. AHCC best before breakfast, Magnolol best in the evening, etc. If you take multiple supplements, space out supplementation through the day if possible e.g. wait for 15 -20 minutes in between two supplements. Check which supplements are water or fat-soluble. Fat-soluble supplements are best taken with meals or some coconut oil.
  • 10 best pill reminder apps for Android. HabitNow
  • Symptom Tracker e. g. Bearable Symptom & Mood Tracer.
  • Keep a Journal. Be result-orientated and try to evaluate every addition to your supplement plan as best as possible. Reassess every month.
  • Discuss with your doctor.
