Linolenic acid

Linolenic acid is a type of polyunsaturated fatty acid that can come in two forms: alpha-linolenic acid
(ALA) and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). ALA is an omega-3 fatty acid, while GLA is an omega-6 fatty acid. Both are essential fatty acids, meaning your body can't produce them on its own and you need to get them from your diet.

ALA is the most common type of linolenic acid and is found in plant-based foods such as flaxseeds and flaxseed oil, walnuts, etc.
